Phil Campbell is something of a conundrum.
Formerly the lead singer and front man with British Blues band 'The Temperance Movement' Campbell chose to leave the band at what some would say was the height of their powers. Starting 'The Byson Family' in his home town Glasgow was not without its troubles either. With a strong Americana influenced songwriting team, Bysons recall an earlier solo Phil Campbell.
Then came lockdown, which in PC’s opinion was the making of The Byson Family, but with it came over-indulgence resulting in complete six month time-out for the Scottish singer.
Phil Campbell is both a solo artist and a band member.
There is no one without the other and it’s clear he has battled this his whole life. Now at peace with this, he is playing and writing more than ever.
